What is the axiom-accessibility skill?

The axiom-accessibility skill is the accessibility router inside Axiom, a suite of skills for Apple platform development. Its SKILL.md sends VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, contrast, touch target, WCAG and UX flow problems to deeper reference files, and it can trigger an automated accessibility scan of your project.

The axiom-accessibility skill is the accessibility entry point inside Axiom, a suite of skills for Apple platform development. Its SKILL.md opens by demanding use for any VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, color contrast or WCAG work.

Despite sitting in a web design category, it targets native apps on iOS, iPadOS, watchOS and tvOS. The file is a router: it sends each symptom to a deeper reference in its own skills folder instead of holding every rule inline.

What changes in your agent's output

  • VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, contrast and touch target problems go to one diagnostic reference, so the agent follows a fixed checklist instead of guessing.
  • Decorative images use Image(decorative:) so VoiceOver skips them, and buttons with changing labels get accessibilityInputLabels() to help Voice Control.
  • Color is never the only signal. When accessibilityDifferentiateWithoutColor is active, the skill asks for icons, patterns or labels beside color.
  • Navigation dead ends, such as a fullScreenCover with no way to dismiss it, are treated as defects and not as polish.

Topics the router covers

  • VoiceOver labels, hints and navigation order, including order that breaks after a window resize.
  • Dynamic Type scaling, plus Large Text on tvOS.
  • Color contrast against WCAG AA and AAA, and touch targets smaller than 44 by 44 points.
  • Keyboard navigation on iPadOS and macOS, Full Keyboard Access, Switch Control, Button Shapes and the Large Content Viewer.
  • Reduce Motion, Assistive Access for cognitive accessibility, Accessibility Inspector workflows and App Store review preparation.

Who the axiom-accessibility skill is for

Best for

  • Swift and SwiftUI developers shipping iOS or iPadOS apps who need accessibility fixes before App Store review.
  • Teams that want a UX flow audit for dead ends, buried calls to action and missing empty, loading or error states.
  • watchOS developers working on the VoiceOver rotor with the Digital Crown, AssistiveTouch or Double Tap.

Not for

  • Websites and web apps. For HTML and ARIA work, see web-accessibility-skill.
  • Choosing layouts or visual style. For iPad interface conventions, see platform-design-ipados, and for phone app design see design-mobile-apps.
  • Installing a single skill alone. It ships inside the full Axiom suite, which the README sizes at 276 skills.

Use it with UiChemy

Axiom covers native Apple apps, and UiChemy builds WordPress sites, so they meet only at the edges. If your app needs a marketing or support site, design it in Figma and bring it over with Figma to WordPress, then Get Started.
